Mark Scholz
President & CEO
As CAOEC President & CEO, Mark helps serve the interests of Canadian energy service contractors by championing their responsible stewardship and long-term sustainability.
Passionate about the oil and gas industry and the benefits it delivers to Canadians from coast to coast to coast, Mark uses his role to educate and engage government, the public, and all stakeholders on its importance and positive impacts. He actively assists in the development of sound public policy that supports the growth and expansion of the Canadian energy services industry.
From 2011 to 2025, Mark served on the Energy Safety Canada Board of Directors, the safety association of the upstream oil and gas industry, and on its Governance and Compensation Committee. He is an active member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and has completed the Not-for-Profit Governance Essential Program through the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Mark received his ICD.D designation in 2025.
Mark holds degrees in economics and political science from the University of Calgary. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business.

Russell Nibogie
Vice President, Operations
Russell’s career started at Baker Hughes in various engineering roles and transitioned to the operator side as Drilling/Completion Technologist and Drilling Superintendent with companies like Suncor Energy and Cenovus Energy. His work in the oilpatch has led to various stints in Alberta, including Calgary, Grande Prairie, and Edmonton.
Russell holds a Petroleum Engineering Degree from SAIT, and currently calls Cochrane home where he lives with his wife and family.

Lindsay Sinclair
Committee and Membership Engagement Lead
Lindsay brings extensive experience in the energy services sector, specializing in operations, stakeholder engagement, and industry collaboration. As Committee and Membership Engagement Lead, she manages CAOEC's operational and executive committees, leads multiple industry initiatives and working groups, and serves as a key liaison between members, regulators, and industry partners.
Lindsay manages committee priorities, action items, stakeholder participation, and project deliverables, helping move initiatives from discussion through consultation, decision-making, and implementation. She is also responsible for member outreach, regulatory and permit programs, and the development of operational guidance, communications, and industry resources. Working closely with organizations such as Energy Safety Canada, provincial regulators, and industry task forces, she helps coordinate stakeholder input and ensure members are represented in regulatory and operational initiatives.
Passionate about member engagement, Lindsay values building strong relationships through regular communication, in-person visits, and collaborative problem-solving. Her focus is on strengthening governance, advancing industry priorities, and ensuring members have the information, resources, and representation they need to support safe and efficient operations across Western Canada.

Addy Geniz
Technical Operations Lead
Addy leads database management and technical operations for CAOEC, overseeing the rig activity database that tracks Canada's drilling fleet and the online training database used across the industry. She also leads technical subcommittee work, represents CAOEC on Energy Safety Canada Advisory Committees in British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and helps coordinate industry events such as the Level III Training Series.
Addy brings more than eight years of experience in business analysis and digital operations, with a background spanning diverse systems implementations, process improvement, and AI-driven workflows. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronic Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.

Amanda Forsyth
Business Services Manager
Amanda supports the organization through finance administration, office operations, membership services, and governance coordination. She plays a key role in ensuring day‑to‑day functions run smoothly while providing responsive support to staff, members, and partners.
Amanda brings her expertise in business operations, HR, and financial administration. Before joining CAOEC, she held leadership roles in business management, where she supported organizational growth by implementing company‑wide systems and SOPs to improve operational efficiency. Her background includes AP/AR oversight, payroll and benefits administration, vendor management, strategic planning, and cross‑departmental coordination.
She is passionate about creating efficient internal processes, enhancing the member experience, and supporting continuous improvement across the organization.

Director, Comms & Public Affairs
An supports CAOEC's communications, public affairs, and government relations efforts, promoting policies and initiatives that strengthen Canada's energy services sector while enhancing public understanding of the industry's vital role in the Canadian economy.
With a background in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and digital storytelling, An specializes in translating complex and technical issues into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with members, governments, industry partners, and the public.
An holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Culture from the University of Calgary. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and Gateway Association.
