· Make appropriate suggestions for the improvement of health and safety within the company
·Set an example and provide safety leadership
· Encourage employees to take responsibility for their own safety and that off their own fellow workers
·Conduct operations in accordance with company’s and the customer’s safety policies.
·Ensure that company’s health and safety manager is informed of all identified hazards, which cannot be rectified immediately
· Ensure employees are briefed as to any potential worksite hazard
· Ensure employees utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with established company policies
· Ensure that injured personnel are escorted to the hospital or doctor if there is any doubt as to the seriousness of the injuries
·Receive feedback on the concerns of employees and ensure that all health and safety issues are addressed
· Give feedback and positive encouragement to employees for safety initiatives and superior performance
·Ensure workers are aware of their individual safety responsibilities as required by this policy, statutory legislation and client specific rules
· Ensure efficient incident reporting, investigation and subsequent follow-up
· Hold regular emergency drills and ensure that each employee understands their individual role
· Personally supervise critical and unscheduled activities and provide immediate response to emergency situations
· Monitor and enhance the standards of safety meetings at the workplace
· Investigate incidents to establish basic causes and remedial action
· Monitor maintenance and certification of specified company safety equipment
· Participate in safety meetings
·Participate in safety reviews and audits
· Attend safety meetings and actively contribute at those meetings
·Participate in the continued development of the apex Well Servicing Inc. H&S manual
· Ensure that third parties operating on the worksite do so in accordance with the customer’s and Apex’ policies
· Pulling/pushing/lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs./35kg
· Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, repetitive motion for long periods of time
·Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel: reach with hands ands arms
·Exposures to dust, noise, vibrations, cold/hot weather condition’s, petroleum-based products, oil and other chemical products are common
· Must have close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
· Climbs ladders/ into equipment/vehicles
