Brian P. Reid, Partner, Bennett Jones LLP
Brian Reid has a diverse commercial litigation practice with a strong emphasis on construction and energy related disputes. Brian assists international and domestic owners, contractors and engineers with the review and drafting of construction and joint venture contracts and tender documents. He also has extensive experience with builder's lien disputes.
Brian represents major institutional clients in complex multi-party litigation and is involved in domestic and international mediation and arbitration with respect to significant commercial disputes. Brian also appears before administrative tribunals and all levels of courts in Alberta.
In addition to extensive commercial litigation experience, Brian has also worked as in-house legal counsel for a TSX-Listed oil and gas drilling company and a large manufacturing company in the State of Qatar.
Brian is a former Executive Committee Member for the National Construction and Infrastructure Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association and has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance and the Student Legal Assistance Society (Calgary).
Brian currently serves as a Director for the Calgary International Language Foundation (a sister society to the Calgary French and International School Society).
Geoffrey P. Stenger
Geoffrey Stenger's practice is primarily focused on project development, long-term service agreements, energy, infrastructure and construction law. He acts for owners and contractors on a variety of commercial matters relating to structuring, delivery, execution and transfer of projects, both in Canada and internationally. He has been repeatedly ranked as a leading Canadian lawyer in both energy and infrastructure by Lexpert.
Geoffrey's experience includes development of power generation (natural gas, solar and wind power projects), pipeline, gas processing, storage, transmission, LNG, petrochemical and refinery projects along with a number of public infrastructure projects (highways, hospitals, schools and light rail projects). His experience in these areas includes structuring, drafting and negotiating project related engineering, procurement and construction agreements (including DBFOM agreements), procurement documentation (RFPs), joint venture and partnership agreements and operation and maintenance agreements.
Geoffrey is a winner of the Lexpert Rising Stars award for 2020. This prestigious award honours Canada’s leading lawyers under 40 from law firms and in-house.
